Restructuring protection

Restructuring protection is a legally defined scheme aimed at improving the position of employees dismissed for production and economic reasons and supporting their re-employment.

The law obliges companies employing over 30 people to provide re-employment coaching or training for those dismissed personnel who have been in continuous employment with the employer for at least five years. Restructuring protection for those over 55 years old is even more comprehensive. Coaching for them must be arranged at the latest within two months from the end of their notice period.

Restructuring organizations and personnel reductions are common in a business environment and it is advisable to implement them by showing respect to the people involved. Arespartners offers individual and group coaching services for career and job search situations for those who have been dismissed, for supervisors who are implementing dismissals, and for existing personnel in reorientation.

In a dismissal situation, the purpose of restructuring protection service is to help a person dismissed in developing his/her job-seeking abilities and to support his/her network expansion. Arespartners’ coach can also help to find a new job or define a new professional direction. The Restructuring Protection service includes six coaching sessions, during which discussions may cover, among other areas:

  • Assessment of the coached person’s self-awareness, experience background, and personality profile (WorkPlace Big 5 and Emotional Quotient Inventory EQ-i 2.0)
  • Future professional aspirations and guidance on the next steps in the career path, as well as preparing an action plan
  • Preparation or refinement of job application documents (CV and cover letter)
  • Creation or update of a LinkedIn profile
  • Discussions on job search channels (e.g., executive search companies, open channels)
  • Preparing for job interviews.

 

The content of coaching sessions can be adjusted to the coached person’s preferences.

Individual and group coaching for dismissed individuals is carried out by Arespartners’ skilled coaches. The process typically lasts 2–6 months. Arespartners’ coach provides support to the coached throughout the entire change process, meaning that the coached can be in contact with the coach in between the coaching sessions too, should the need be.
